overheard
Last night, Elijah was carrying around a box of toys he was hoarding. He made the mistake of setting it down, and Izzie snapped it up immediately. Elijah was not amused. Here is what transpired:
Elijah: (yelling) "no no Izzie. Mine"
Izzie: (looks at Elijah, reaches into the box, grabs one toy and hands it to Elijah)
Elijah: "No, no car"
Izzie: "Okay, Fine" (as she throws the car off to the side and reaches in for the next item to hand to him)
Elijah: "No, no cup"
Izzie: "Okay, fine" (as she tosses that toy away)
This continued until the box was empty.
It's pretty funny to watch how they interact these days. They love to give each other commands, and admonish one another for their bad behaviour. For example, if one of them won't come get their socks on, the other one always says "come on ____, go mama" and tries to drag the reluctant one to me.
Their favourite statements seem to be "come on", "no way", "okay, fine", "how bout..." and "mine".

It's like they have their own shorthand language... simple words that convey so much. One of my kids was a twin but their twin sibling died as an infant and I am constantly looking for "clues" that they're missing their other half. I drive myself bonkers doing it... but when you see twins together, you can just see how their minds are connected. I love reading about each detil of the Wonder Twins!!!
